LOCAL MP SUPPORTS NORTH DEVON BEER FESTIVAL

It will give me great pleasure to conduct the official opening of the Barnstaple Beer festival on 29 June, as the Vice Chairman of the All Party Beer Group based in Westminster I have to declare a personal interest in such matters.
The event is being organised by my old friends at the Pilton based Barum Brewery and I would urge everyone to support this three day event.
This is a landmark festival and a first of its kind, in terms of its location at North Devon Leisure Centre and the range of producers being bought together. Not only is it being supported by local breweries but also local wine and cider makers. I am a great proponent of the ethos of buy local where possible.
On a more serious note while this event is about promoting local producers it is also be raising funds for the North Devon Air Ambulance Trust; always a very worthy cause. I wish the festival every success and look forward to seeing everyone there.
