CUTTING ARMY MEDICS RECKLESS FOLLY

Commenting on the announcement that the Government is cutting its requirement for Armed Forces doctors and nurses, Liberal Democrat Shadow Defence Secretary Nick Harvey MP, said:

"This beggars belief. Everyone acknowledges the desperate shortage of army medics and there have been discussions with the BMA on how to encourage medics to go into the military.

"Everything should be done to sustain the numbers. Cutting them seems like reckless folly."
