IT DELAY IS LATEST IN MoD's CATALOGUE OF FAILURE

Commenting on today's [Thursday] Public Accounts Committee report, which finds that the new MoD IT system has suffered major delays in implementation, Liberal Democrat Shadow Defence Secretary, Nick Harvey said:

"When the Government's terrible record on major IT projects is brought together with the MoD's catalogue of failure on procurement, it is no surprise that we see this perfect storm of incompetence.

"For years the MoD has needed to get its act together on procurement projects from military vehicles to computers.

"With our front-line troops still having to go without the equipment they need to do their job, it is scandalous that the MoD is throwing money away through bad management."
