On 2 May Nick supported the North Devon Federation of Small Businesses' Keep Trade Local event at Green Lanes Shopping Centre, Barnstaple.
Says Nick, 'Most people when they think of buying local, automatically think of food produce - especially organic, but of course local tradesmen and businesses cover the whole gamut of services.
'This event was partly designed to highlight this, to remind people what local business has to offer. Also the FSB is lobbying Government nationally to do more to support local business during these difficult economic times.
'The day long event collected over 200 signatures and these will be sent up to the FSB in London, where they will join many others to be presented to the Prime Minister.'
