North Devon MP Nick Harvey visited the Roundswell McDonald's restaurant to see how the business operates.
The tour was hosted by franchisee David Hunt, who owns and operates four restaurants in Devon.
Mr Harvey said, 'I am delighted I had the opportunity to see first-hand how a restaurant franchise is run, and to view the business from the other side rather than from a customer's perspective.
'I was particularly keen to hear more about McDonald's training initiatives. It's no secret that work-based training offers a valuable alternative to more traditional education models, and in the midst of a downturn it is more vital than ever that employers play their part in investing in the skills that our workforce needs to compete on a local, regional and wider field.'
