The South West Regional Development Agency is now saying that it was wrong to imply its decision to cut funding for North Devon College was based on anticipation that Learning Skills Council funding would not be forthcoming (to the tune of £75 million).
The RDA are now backtracking saying that a decision on its £1 million grant for North Devon College rests on the LSC's final decision. Apparently it was all a 'mistake.' However, the RDA has refused to commit itself even if LSC funding is approved.
The RDA has hardly covered itself in glory over the handling of this issue, though the College has accepted the RDA's apology.
