MoD HAS MORAL OBLIGATION TO COMPENSATE NUCLEAR TEST VETERANS - HARVEY

Forces viewing testCommenting on the MoD being given the go-ahead to appeal against a court ruling allowing Britain's nuclear test veterans to claim damages, Liberal Democrat Shadow Defence Secretary, Nick Harvey said:

"There is absolutely no moral justification for the MoD to continue dragging its feet on compensation for nuclear test veterans.

"When countries from the US to China have already compensated their own test veterans, it is an international embarrassment that Britain has still failed to do so.

"The Government has already wasted millions trying to duck its moral obligations. This could cost the taxpayer millions more."
