MoD FAILURE TO ACT QUICKLY ON SNATCH COST LIVES - HARVEY

Sntach Land RoverCommenting on the news that the families of four service personnel killed in Snatch Land Rovers in Iraq and Afghanistan are to sue the MoD, Liberal Democrat Shadow Defence Secretary, Nick Harvey said:

"It is a dark day for the MoD when forces families are forced to resort to the courts because the Government has failed in its duty of care to its own troops.

"Ministers knew for a long time that these vehicles were not up to the job, but their failure to act quickly cost lives.

"If the MoD ends up landed with a costly settlement, it only has itself to blame."
