"Dear Nick, I find Mr Chorlton's [Devon County Council Executive Director] reply to your enquiry totally unconvincing. As we discussed, we had difficulty in seeing how allowing a left turn at Taw Vale would seriously increase the traffic using The Square.
I am quite incredulous that reintroducing a left turn into Taw Vale, even on a temporary basis, would cost £100,000.
"I am not asking for a new road here but the honouring of a promise made that none of the traffic orders within the town was set in stone.
"Nick, as you can see I can go on about this at great length and I think the best way forward is to take it to the Hatoc Committee (North Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee) which is a joint committee between County and the District Council. Thank you for your help in this matter and I will keep you informed with any future developments."
