"I am displeased to learn that First Great Western is squeezing their Off-Peak passengers," says Nick Harvey. "FGW is set to introduce restrictions on its cheapest off-peak tickets as of 6 September, which will mean fare increases of 20 per cent. This comes on top of FGW increasing their car-parking charges by 25 per cent."
"Passenger Focus informs me the new arrangements will add even more complexity to an already complicated system. For example the new Super Off-Peak ticket doesn't allow a return from London between 3pm and 7pm. This will clearly cause problems for families."
"Unfortunately off-peak fare regulations do nothing to safeguard against train companies eroding the times for which these tickets are applicable."
