WELL DESERVED ACCOLADE FOR NORTH DEVON'S PUBS

Good Beer Guide pintNick says: "I am very pleased that the Campaign for Real Ale's Good Beer Guide 2010 recognises the excellent pubs we have here in North Devon. It is particularly pleasing that two Barnstaple hostelries 'The Panniers' and 'The Rolle Quay Inn' have been included.

"In total the guide includes 19 pubs and 5 breweries in North Devon and Torridge.

"This is good news because I have long lobbied against the inequities of the brewing industry and the Government's apparent indifference to the plight of publicans in these difficult times."

Earlier in the year the North Devon Branch of Camra chose the 'Hunters In,' Heddon Valley as its pub of the year with the 'Castle Inn,' Combe Martin as the runner up.
